SSI: Another grand weekend

We decided it had been a while, so we were traveling south for some good ole fun with great friends and family! St. Simon's, here we come!
Look closely and you can see T and T listening to stories while they wait for lunch at school. Notice their plates had no peas because we were planning on doing "lunch in the car". There seats are "head of the table", right across from each other!

Pizza and monkey--who could think of any better combination?

Taylor asking for his blankie!!!

Poppy and Turner reading a Richard Scary book together. Oh, how Turner loves Richard Scary and all the trucks in it!!! It was this day that he added " apple" to his vocabulary!

Dinner in the big boy chair while reading his animal book. Turn loves to read books!!!
Taylor wouldn't sit still, so he was put in the highchair!!

T and T heading out for a walk with mommy. Look at those handsome boys holding hands!!!

Whoops--who was suppose to be watching the boys? There goes Taylor, up the ladder!!!

Turner playing on the beach with this borrowed truck. Thanks to the 8 year old who let Turner play with it!!! Turner kept scooping boiled peanut shells up with his digger!!!
No more photos, my friends! We were recovering on Saturday and forgot to take more family photos on the Slade Family Beach day!!! Daddy and mommy enjoyed a fun night out with one of daddy's best friend and gal. Loved hanging with Elizabeth and Matt too much. Having a headache in the hot summer sun on the beach is no party, folks! But well worth it!!!

Boy's Night Out

Mommy was tired and needed a break from short order cook, so we decided to hit our favorite dinner place with our buddies, Mrs. Jodi and Andrew. HERE'S TO PARTY KINGDOM!!! Whoever invented a kid friend "Chuck-e-cheese" style place with amazing suishi, chinese, thai and wine, should win an award!!! Mommy and Taylor in the big tunnel before we went down the slide!

Boy's First fishing trip

The weather was hot so we decided to "out boat" as Turner says. Before the fishing began.

Jack started barking so we knew the fish were near. Turner pointing toward the "suspected" fish.

"huh?" False alarm... no fish yet, but still a great view.

Guinnie, having ventured from under daddy's legs.

T and T looking ahead on Shem Creek.

After only a few cast nets thrown, we got some decent bait fish for fishing. No fish caught though. All of the fishing wore little man, Turner out. He is always shouting "out boat". Now, we know why. "Out Boat" is the best place for him to take a nap.

So, we decided to head to our favorite island. Here is Taylor, enjoying a snack while he waits for brother to get up.

Up, up, brother is ready to play!!!

John 5 showing Turner how to bother the heck out of the poor ole bait fish.

Taylor showing Savannah how to eat all of the goldfish. Whoops--Savannah ran away. Oh well, more for Taylor.

Coupon Multiples Mom

These days I understand why mom are saying that boys will eat you out of the house. Having three boys who LOVE to eat, we could be broke thanks to groceries alone. It is a good thing that I breast fed for 11 months. If I knew my Publix bills would be this high, I might have never introduced them to solid foods.

A patient of mine taught me about couponing and it has become my new hobby. It was her passion and as I rehabilitated her mind and speech, I never knew all those sessions would help me so much!

Why coupon, I asked? She said why not? Let's see. I love to cook and shop. I am extremely organized and very Type A. I require little sleep and find myself up at night after my boys and ralphie have gone to sleep with nothing to do. It is easy, free and a great way to save money. On average, I save about HALF on every bill. Ladies, half price, means more money for clothes, babysitters, vacations, and manicures!!!

All of this stuff was $125. With my coupons and store discounts, I saved $69. For you newbies, I feel inclined to do a Top 5 for you:
1. www.southernsavers.com will be your new best friend!
2. Publix will let you use any competitors coupon, paired with a manufactor's coupon, meaning you save double. They are my choice for this reason alone. Check out your favorite store's coupon policy. HT does have double and triple coupons certain weeks.
3. You do have to "stockpile" some stuff to get the best deals, but if you have three boys and two dogs, it is usually gone before the pile begins.
4. When they have Buy 1, get 1 Free, you can get 1 for half price.
5. Use your coupon when it is on sale to get double the value. For example, the Smart Balance Milk Half Gallons, I got for 50cents each this week. The Mortons Salt was free because it was on sale and I had a coupon. Last week, they paid me 8 cents to leave for Heinz Ketchup. FOR REAL, FOLKS!!!

Happy shopping! ; ) Love, Liz

Friday Harbor Cruise

The four day week had been long, so we decided a Harbor Cruise was the best way to start the weekend. Luckily, our godmothers, Beth and Sabrina, were free too. What a great time was had by all. It was a short ride because of some fussing, but enjoyable, nevertheless. Loved having you too, Uncle Jeff!

Aunt Sabrina saved the day by busting out these cookies.

As you can tell, the goodies were enjoyed by all.
