After School Fun

Mommy is finding that after school, the boys are ready to play! We used to come straight home and they would expect dinner. Now, playtime is a must and dinner is an after thought!

Climbing and jumping on the furniture.... "monkeys included!"
The "big" playset at their school. Being in the Toddler Turtle Classroom, this is not their playground. As you can see, they are wanting it to be theirs!!!

Who would have thought looking into the school's parking lot would be so much fun??

Snacktime on the playground with mommy!!!

Water time with mommy on the playground : )

Swinging in the big boy swings---this is a new thing!! Notice Turner holding tightly to his snack cup.
" Peek-a-boo"

Play Dates Galore!

Playdates are our new thing. We had two playdates last weekend and two more this weekend. Fun, fun, fun....for both mommy and the boys!!
Ellen Michael and her mommy Crissy came over last weekend and what fun we had!!! Taylor showed her how to ride the horsey. They were so sweet, hugging, sharing snack cups and showing her the ropes of our jungle gym in which we live!

Meanwhile, sweet Mr. Independent drank his milk, read books and played with his trains.

My friend, Liz, was babysitting her niece, Isabelle. They came over for a playdate and what a great time we had!

T and T hogging the horses, yet they have sat vacant since last week's playdate. Funny how a new friend's interest in your old toy can make it so much more interesting!

Isabelle hops aboard as T and T fight over the other horsey.

Turner and Madison enjoy a bike ride with Mrs. Meredith!

Madison zooms off in the boy's car, as Turner goes to swat Taylor for taking his girl friend's seat!

Thank you Aunt Micki and Uncle Yosh!

Thank you, Aunt Micki and Uncle Yosh for making the trip and for bringing us fabulous new toys. As you can see, Thomas and his boat were a total hit in the bathtub!
Turner trying to put Thomas back into "out boat".
Taylor "choo choo" in imitation of his brother.

More "choo choo" as Thomas drives down the bathtub railing!

T and T sharing their new Thomas book. Needless to say, they want to learn all of the new names. Turner can now say "Arold" when I point to Harold the helicopter. Taylor loves to dance to the Thomas theme song and honk the train's horn.

Turner doing some reading on his own.
Needless to say, Aunt Micki, you have two new friends in SC!!! And they finished off the cookies today with big grins. Thanks again! : )

Aunt Micki and Uncle Yosh visit

What a grand surprise! Our aunt and uncle decided to FINALLY get out of the cold and move to SC. They stopped by Charleston, on their way home from Beaufort, to meet T and T. Aunt Micki, Caroline and cousin, Savannah!!

Taylor giving some love to his Great Aunt Micki!!! (Nice bruise, huh? This was a bit of sibling rivarly per his school teacher. Evidently, Taylor lost?)

Love this photo. Taylor was so content.
Savannah eating lunch on the boy's desk.

T and T enjoying lunch, as usual, in their highchairs.

Turner done. Taylor still eating. Savannah replaces Turner.

More eating by Taylor. Whomever invented portable, squeezable applesauce deserves an award!!!

T and T playing in the new tent with daddy and Jack. Hey, no laughing. We were desperate to entertain the boys while it poured ouside!!!

Turner brought out all 4 monkeys for the party!!!

John 5 and Aunt Micki talking on the phone. Aunt Micki, you have a nature knack with kids!! It is not easy to get John 5's attention and you did it. plus, you got a hug and wave from Taylor. You are HOT STUFF!!! : )

Farmer's Market

Farmer's Market is the highlight of our Tuesday. This week, we met the boy's friends, Madison and Davis there with my favorite gals, Meredith and Kelly!

We thought ice cream would cool them down, but realized the whole walking while scooping was a bad, bad idea. Two cups later for Taylor, which both ended on the floor, ended in a major meltdown. Popcorn it will always be!!

Daddy sharing his popcorn with T and T.

One Shoe Lou drinking his melted ice cream.

Free watermelon. Poor guy! We tried to pay him with tips because the boys thought since they got one free taste, they could keep coming back for more!!! Three pieces each and a few purchases from mommy, we ventured to the grass for some "boy time!"

Davis enjoying the "free stuff".

T and T chasing Davis.
Taylor enjoying his own bag of popcorn.

Turner eating his peach. Now, that was his idea and surprisenly, they LOVED it!!!

Mommy and the boys---post farmer's market!!!

Party Kingdom with godmother's

Daddy had open house, in preparation for the first day of school, so mommy and Aunt Sabrina and Aunt Beth took the boys to Party Kingdom!
Turner and Aunt Beth driving the race car! Zoom-zoom!!

Taylor making friends.
Taylor going down the slide. Wee! He loves climbing up and sliding down.

One Shoe Lou

Here is T and T's classroom with Ms. Jan and Ms. Lisa. Look closely and you'll see the pink izod shirts. See "one shoe lou", aka Taylor. This kid loves to take his left shoe off. In the car, on the boat, at school, at the park, at the pool, whenever the mood strikes, the left shoe is off!
One Shoe Lou running to see his momma. (The best feeling in the world is to see this every day after a long day at work!)

One Shoe Lou eating ice cream at the Farmer's Market.

One shoe Lou fussing in the car over ?????
Love you, One Shoe Lou!!!!

"Out Boat"

Just a few favorites from last weekend! These are all we have because we got caught in a bad rain storm and looked like drowned rats after the short boat ride back to the marina. Our fault totally--only avid "outboaters" will take a chance at rain! After all, who can not take T and T out on the boaty when they say "out boat?"Turner feel asleep before the boat left Shem Creek.

Taylor fell asleep after we left the creek.

"We are awake"...after the rain storm!!!!

Little Gym

It was a rainy day and the Slades were bored, so we stopped at Little Gym for a class. Turner would have nothing to do with it, so Taylor and mommy got to spend a full 45 minutes completely alone. I mean, alone. Most kids hung in the circle, making friends and paying close attention to the teacher. But not our Taylor. He ran around, giggled with excitement and tried everything out. What a little ham!!! Taylor climbing up and meeting another twin!

Taylor exploring on the balance beams with the orange frisbee that he stole from the circle time. Make note of all the other kids playing in circle time with balls.

Taylor exploring the tumbling blocks. See all of the backs toward us? Yep, everyone else was in circle time but happy, go lucky, Mr. Independent Taylor.

Taylor dunking the ball!

Finally, Taylor ended the session by joining in circle time.
This proud mommy can now report that Taylor LOVED it. He is quite the little gymnist. He hung from the parallel bars, walked on the high balance beam, putting one foot in front of the other, holding only mommy's hand and did a front flip off of a mat.

The End: Turner sleeping soudly after he and daddy played in the toy store next door. Evidently, while daddy was in line to pay for some new Thomas trains, Turner grabbed a handful of matchbox cars and make a run right out the front door, laughing all the way. Nice, we got a theft at 23 months. : )
