RLC Water Day

As if we needed another reason to love the boy's school!! RLC has a water and family day every spring. Naturally, the Slades participated and had a blast!

Making bubbles....BIG BUBBLES!!

Playing in the water table with our buddy, Davis.

Drinking Capri Sun's

Taylor getting adventurous with the big water slide, as Ms. lori helped him get ready for his turn.

Taylor getting ready!!!

Taylor "chickening " out.

Mommy helps Taylor out with a little coaxing, which helped him go down. He LOVED it and kept wanting to go again, only so he could play in the pool at the bottom!!!

Play date with Isabelle

What a pleasant treat! Little Isabelle came to play and what fun the boys had. Mommy got to catch up with her favorite "graduate student" (Liz...now a pediatric SLP, so let me know if you need someone fabulous!), Isabelle and Isabelle's mom, Sallie! The boys and girl were on their best behavior....Isabelle is such a brave girl. She fell, picked her head up, waited to be picked up, and all with no tears!!!

Few photos were taken as the threesome stompled from inside to outside, getting along great! Of course, snacks were part of the mix!! Turner was more quiet than usual, but Taylor stole the show with his laughter and meltdowns.
SNACKTIME!!!
The boys crashed after dinner. We can't wait to play with Isabelle again!!

"Sick" Day

The day started off GREAT! We enjoyed a great breakfast of pancakes, applesauce, sausage and fresh blueberries, got outside in time for the trash man and his big ole truck and mommy arrived to work on-time! (That is rare on trash days.)

Let me back up. Taylor was in a great mood. Poor kid is usually not a morning person.

Turner refused most of his breakfast. He has teeth coming in and was gnawing on everything in sight, so I thought was teething. REALLY! Here he is multi-tasking with a snack cup of cheerios and his milk. This was after he brought me the raincoat himself after hearing Ben and i talk about how it was going to be raining all day. Turner doesn't miss a beat!!!

This was after the school called to say that he was fussy, cuddled up in the teacher's arms ina fetal position (which is not a word that anyone would describe him as) and had a rash all over his face. An hour later, and after the pediatrician cleared him, it was naptime. Poor kid would have nothing to do with his crib, so on the couch with Jackson it was!!!

Before bedtime...same day; different outfits because Turner and mommy had a pool party while Taylor was at school. SSShhhhh...our secret!!!
PS- We think the problem was the brie cheese I gave him. Mommy has so many stomach problems and she thinks Turner might have them too. Mommy was making daddy a sandwich, they grunted , so mommy tried some cheese with them. Who knows, really? Regardless, Turner was back to his perky self by 7pm.

Morris Island

Squint ...and you can see the amazing view that we saw from Morris Island. See the Cooper River Bridges!!! Man, have times changed. I used to go to the island for a day long booze cruise, wearing the skimpiest bikini, checking out for cute boys, and sun bathing for hours. Now, we arrive FIRST, and leave FIRST, drinking my water and wishing I could still fit in my tiny bikini, as I come ashore in my bathing suit and cover up! But not without a terrific time.

Make note of Mr. Mischievous himself--Taylor running to the water despite mommy and daddy calling us name from afar. No worries, friends. Daddy was on the boat, but bending over to pick up the sunscreeen.

This photo was after the yelling, which led to us being ignored, but before Taylor went under. Brave boy shook it off, confused on the events before trying it again.

Turner was teething and not feeling great, but was a brave trooper with his ole faithful stick!!!

The only self portrait of mommy; look at how sweet Taylor's hand looks holding mine. Thanks daddy for my ring...I do love it. And thank you to Granny for giving daddy her rock to share with me!!!
Taylor playing in the title pools as daddy looked for shark teeth! And boy, did he find them!! This was his childhood hobby and it is about to become the boy's.

Turner looking for shells and chasing fiddler crabs!!!

COSCO!!!

Ok, it was hot. It was way too hot for outside play, so to COSCO, we went. Thank goodness it was "snack day" because that is the only thing that made these boys ok with being stuck in the bob. They enjoyed chips, salsa, cheese, honey buns, popcicles, lobster dip, crackers, pretzel chips and hot dogs. I know!! And this was after they had lunch at the snack bar of pizza. Boys sure do eat a lot!!!

A two dollar donation to the Miracle Network sure was worth it for these handy balloons. Well, until another 2 dollars was spent after hearing (purposely) "uh-oh" and the balloons went flying.

POPCICLES!!! Yep, they made a mess and the BOB is now stained, but who cares? Stroller should be stained to show it's fabulous age!!

Third round of honey buns...no lie!!!

JOHN 5 and Savannah joined in on the snacktime fun.

PS- Poor COSCO got the way raw end of the deal. Both Carrie and I had everything needed for our kids, but forgot our checkbooks and only had $40 cash between us. And that was before lunch and balloons...needless to say, what a great excuse to go next weekend!!!

Under The Bridge Park Time!

The Under the Bridge Park is so cool. we are so lucky to be surrounded by parks all around us. Thsi is mommy's favorite because it is in the shade, has a great view, on our way home from school and number 1, it is completely fenced in!!!!

T and T checking out the "big kids"

Mommy: "Uh-oh"....we can climb now!!!

Taylor scaring mommy to death by climbing all over the big boy stuff and LOVING it.

Sweet Savannah joined us.

And best bud, Davis. Whoops, Kelly! I just saw in the photo how Turner was drinking from Davis' cup.
Snacking and swinging...

Best Bud, Davis and his sweet mommy, Kelly

New Stuff: 20 months!

In preparation for our upcoming plane ride, mommy went shopping for some new "supplies" (aka: things to keep the boys close, handy and occupied).

KID LEASHES!!! I was always opposed, but am thinking it was the best 20 dollar investment ever!! Can you see the excitement in their faces??

They insisted on wearing them backwards. Oh well, who cares, as long as I can keep them close to me!!!

Turner "walking" Taylor around the house. Ok, I hope we have given ya'll a great laugh!!!

Need I say more? Cutie Pie Taylor loved the leash!!!

Ditto for Handsome Pants Turner!!!

We discovered a new park right down the road. It is vacant, in the shade, has bathrooms and a water fountain!!!

How cool is all this stuff? The boys loved the soft floor as they chased each other from side to side.
$5 find at the Mt. Pleasant's Mom to Mom Sale: Radio Tricyle!!! You know mommy and her deals!!

More pool time--- this time, I found all of our recyled stuff in the pool as "toys". Oh well, cheap entertainment we love!!!

1st Boat Ride

Ben and I have been fearful to take the boys out on the boat alone, fearful that we wouldn't have enough hands to keep them in line!!! BUT, are now happy to report that we are secure now! Our first boat trip was a total success. We took tons of pictures because the boys were so cute and thoroughly enjoyed it!!! Even the dogs made the cut...

Taylor: First reaction to the steady rocking of the waves.

Turner: First reaction was "huh?". He was deep in thought trying to figure out why the boat was sitting in the biggest pool he has ever seen! We have put them in the boat several times but only in our yard. We have pointed at boats go by, but nothing was like this experience. He was in total awe...quiet as a mouse, too much in awe to even grunt or speak!

Under the Shem Creek Bridge...Taylor still in shock!

Jackson loving the view!
T and T laying down to check out the front of the boat.

Yep, these are our twin boys, leaning and loving on each other. Now, this head shot was too cute to not post. Taylor's hair is getting blonder by the day and Turner 's hair is darker than mine. Funny, how genes kick in.

SNACKTIME! You know the Slade boys. They gotta eat every few hours or else.

Ole Faithful Guinnie decided to make a guest appearnce. Poor guy was dying to get out the door with us, but is scared to death of the boat. He lays under Ben's feet on all four. The only reason he was up for this photo was because it was snacktime.

Taylor leaning on Jackson for some support. This was before his tired self, laid his head on my chest to fall asleep. As a baby, he always loved to be rocked to sleep.

Turner was so tired, yet would not sit down. At this point, he was grunting and pointing at everything. Still in awe.
Turner having a sip of water to cool himself off.
