Boy's Night Out

Mommy was tired and needed a break from short order cook, so we decided to hit our favorite dinner place with our buddies, Mrs. Jodi and Andrew. HERE'S TO PARTY KINGDOM!!! Whoever invented a kid friend "Chuck-e-cheese" style place with amazing suishi, chinese, thai and wine, should win an award!!! Mommy and Taylor in the big tunnel before we went down the slide!

Boy's First fishing trip

The weather was hot so we decided to "out boat" as Turner says. Before the fishing began.

Jack started barking so we knew the fish were near. Turner pointing toward the "suspected" fish.

"huh?" False alarm... no fish yet, but still a great view.

Guinnie, having ventured from under daddy's legs.

T and T looking ahead on Shem Creek.

After only a few cast nets thrown, we got some decent bait fish for fishing. No fish caught though. All of the fishing wore little man, Turner out. He is always shouting "out boat". Now, we know why. "Out Boat" is the best place for him to take a nap.

So, we decided to head to our favorite island. Here is Taylor, enjoying a snack while he waits for brother to get up.

Up, up, brother is ready to play!!!

John 5 showing Turner how to bother the heck out of the poor ole bait fish.

Taylor showing Savannah how to eat all of the goldfish. Whoops--Savannah ran away. Oh well, more for Taylor.

Coupon Multiples Mom

These days I understand why mom are saying that boys will eat you out of the house. Having three boys who LOVE to eat, we could be broke thanks to groceries alone. It is a good thing that I breast fed for 11 months. If I knew my Publix bills would be this high, I might have never introduced them to solid foods.

A patient of mine taught me about couponing and it has become my new hobby. It was her passion and as I rehabilitated her mind and speech, I never knew all those sessions would help me so much!

Why coupon, I asked? She said why not? Let's see. I love to cook and shop. I am extremely organized and very Type A. I require little sleep and find myself up at night after my boys and ralphie have gone to sleep with nothing to do. It is easy, free and a great way to save money. On average, I save about HALF on every bill. Ladies, half price, means more money for clothes, babysitters, vacations, and manicures!!!

All of this stuff was $125. With my coupons and store discounts, I saved $69. For you newbies, I feel inclined to do a Top 5 for you:
1. www.southernsavers.com will be your new best friend!
2. Publix will let you use any competitors coupon, paired with a manufactor's coupon, meaning you save double. They are my choice for this reason alone. Check out your favorite store's coupon policy. HT does have double and triple coupons certain weeks.
3. You do have to "stockpile" some stuff to get the best deals, but if you have three boys and two dogs, it is usually gone before the pile begins.
4. When they have Buy 1, get 1 Free, you can get 1 for half price.
5. Use your coupon when it is on sale to get double the value. For example, the Smart Balance Milk Half Gallons, I got for 50cents each this week. The Mortons Salt was free because it was on sale and I had a coupon. Last week, they paid me 8 cents to leave for Heinz Ketchup. FOR REAL, FOLKS!!!

Happy shopping! ; ) Love, Liz

Friday Harbor Cruise

The four day week had been long, so we decided a Harbor Cruise was the best way to start the weekend. Luckily, our godmothers, Beth and Sabrina, were free too. What a great time was had by all. It was a short ride because of some fussing, but enjoyable, nevertheless. Loved having you too, Uncle Jeff!

Aunt Sabrina saved the day by busting out these cookies.

As you can tell, the goodies were enjoyed by all.

Thomas the Train

Daddy surprised us last week with a Thomas the Train set!
Taylor and mommy snuggling, as turner played with his new trains.

Turner pushed the trains around saying "choo-choo". He LOVES it!!!!

Party Kingdom

Our favorite family night ever is Party Kingdom in James Island. It's basically a chuck-e-cheese like place, but has amazing suishi, thai, chinese and wine/beer! This visit was with the Berlinsky's and the Kruses. No pictures of the ladies because we were drinking wine and gabbing!!
Daddy and our friend, Tom, supervising T and T.

Brotherly "love"

I arrived at school on Friday to pick up my little angels. I went to Turner's cubby to find a "BITING" note. I had heard of such notes, but had not received one. My baby A Angel "bit a friend" today. I was mortified! Shocked too. Turner is the more aggressive one of the two, but so even tempered that I was shocked he could ever had been mad enough to bite someone. I asked who he had bit so I could apologize to the child/mom and make sure that they had made Turner apologize. They said it was policy to not say who was bit or who had done the biting. Whew---no angry mom at me because Turner had bitten their precious angel.
I then go to Taylor's cubby to find a "BITING" note as well. Read below.
Brotherly love has begun. Poor Baby B, Taylor, was bitten by his brother. Poor buddy is constantly being tortured by Turner at home and will not stick up for himself. Guess he'll learn one of these days. Or he'll eventually get so mad that Turner better watch out!!!

Children's Museum

Everybody keeps telling us how wonderful the Children's Museum is. We now understand what they are talking about!! T and T admiring the fountain outside of the museum. This was after they pointed, grunted and chased down every passing bus, trolley, van and truck on Meeting Street.
The Water Room: way, way cool!!!

Boats galore. Turner was in heaven. He kept saying " bo". This is his new favorite word of the week!!!

They even thought of water aprons!!! How cute do they look in them, even if it's from the back.

They have a mini Publix, which the boys loved. Taylor kept grabbing a cart, filling it up, and grabbing another cart. I thought we were contestants on Super Market Sweep!!

Turner would carefully take his things and put them back when told. Now, this is mini me. Type A, neat freak, he will hopefully be!!! Just like his momma.

Like at home, Taylor went for his favorites--cereal galore!!!

Taylor and mommy drawing a picture in the art room, while Turner went up and down the new exhibit (Tree Slide).
* The camera died before we could get pictures on the tree slide, toddler area, castle and shrimp boat. Oh well, we had so much fun, we are thinking of going back later this week!!!

Play Date with Gan

Gan drove up in the boat with friends from Sunset Beach to pick up his boat. Bless his heart. He said the 4 hr. trip down the intracoastal was great, but I bet it was HOT, HOT, HOT!! In order to cool off and get in some T and T loving, the boys and I grabbed him for a downtown park visit.

Turner showing off his driving skills in the jeep!
Gan swinging Taylor. Taylor was so relaxed that his eyes were rolling back as he tried to stay awake. This kid as always loved the swings!!!
Turner climbing on the jeep before he hit the slides!!!

Gan and Taylor taking a jeep ride to a cooler land.
We loved being with you, Gan! And of course missed our Boo. See you soon!!! : )

Happy Wednesday to Mommy!

Pre-Ben and pre-boys, I was infatuated with china. Shopping and buying china for myself has always been " just my thing". I believe in using your best stuff daily. I believe in living life to the finest and do it with the best china!!! Let's see. I have two everyday, one fine, two Christmas sets, one fine dessert set, two cocktail/appetizer sets and well....I better stop there in case sweet hubby reads this. I got it honestly from my mom. Hence, tonight's activity.

Mom fell is love with some dishes from TJ Maxx. She has been to every one in Charlotte, has emailed an aunt in Greenville and had me go searching in Charleston to get a full place setting of twenty (we like to have enough in case they break...I know, we are china freaks!!). On my search for her, I found the appetizer plates of the lifetime at Marshalls!!! I mean, they'll go so well with my furniture. They'll go great with Thomas the Train zooming by and look mighty masculine as I serve watermelon and pb and j's to the boys. ONLY KIDDING, MOM!!!

Aren't they precious? So me!!! So, blog friends everyone, if you see anymore of these dessert plates at TJ Maxx or Marshalls, put them on hold for me, call me, buy them for me, save them for my birthday, ANYTHING!!! I got 11, but really want at least 15. I mean, who hosts a girl's night with less than 15 people and every fine friend I have deserves to eat off their own precious giraffe plate.

Happy 4th of July!

Turner was zonked before the boat left the landing. Poor buddy was so excited about the holiday boat ride, he woke up at 5am and was ready to go!!!
Funny thing. Turner never liked the motion as a baby in the swing, but loves sleeping to the motion of the ocean!!!

Taylor and Davis playing on the beaches of Morris Island. We loved having Davis and his daddy, Tom, out on the boat with us. Kelly, mother of Davis, had a family funeral, so Tom had daddy duty, which is always easier in numbers!!

The bots played for a good hour dumping wtaer ina nd out of the big bucket.

Well, the fun ended after poor D did a nose dive into the bucket. Thankfully, this strong boy recovered in no time!

Back to the water we go. Yep, Turner slept a good bit, missing lots of the beach time!!

Davis walking with his bucket of goodies (big shells) from the dunes!!!

Taylor stopping to shovel some sand with his biggest shell. Good problem solving, little guy!!

We finally decided that we'd better wake Turner up for the beach time! The college drunks were starting to arrive, so we knew that our time on the beach was about to be over.

Taylor and Davis showing off their shells.

Turner enjoying some juice.

Two pop tarts (brother didn't like his and gave his to Taylor), two juice boxes, loads of watermelon...too much for little guy's gut. Major blow out caused Taylor to have to sport his swimmers only. Thank goodness this mommy of multiples was prepared with extras!!!

Davis shaking off his wet hands after helping built some castles. It's SNACKTIME!!!

How our life has changed. Everyone else there was drinking beer, half drunk by 10 am, while they danced and shook their stuff to radio not made for kids!! We were changing diapers, putting on sunscreen, but laughing outloud. Loving every moment with our babies!!!

Ok, the kids had a blast!!! Davis, Turner and Taylor were sleeping before we left the island. The three little Indians were out!!!

T and T, together, as always. Who doesn't laugh outloud at Taylor's hands? He must be dreaming of the Atlanta Falcons getting a TOUCHDOWN!!!!
