Winding Down...

Our nighttime routine consists of dinner, bath, bedroom play, storytime and sleepy music-thon. Bathtime is one of our favorite times of the day. They love the bath! They have a full belly and are vocally happy! Here is Turner with his mini b-ball that he stole from his brother.
Our neighbor's left their sweet lab, Caroline, with us for two weeks. Caroline joined us in the nursery to play with the boys. She let the boys pet her and allowed them to climb all over her! Ole faithful Guinnie waited by the gate in the hall, waiting to be let in!

Mother's Kitchen Helpers

We had to venture out of the boy cave for all of our sanity and have figured out how to block off the kitchen area so mommy can cook and the boys can play. I should have thought about kids when building our "open floorplan" house! Here is Taylor using an old collander as a hat. One minute later, Turner is using this old tin and rice cooker spoon as a drum set...... The Slade Band members: Turner and Taylor (10 1/2 months)

Another fabulous weekend on SSI

Since the highchairs were too bulky to be towed to St. Simon's, we made our own version. Thanks to Granny and Poppy's chair and the ole faithful BUMBO, we enjoyed easy eating all weekend. The boys enjoyed their usuals, but especially Southern Soul's barbeque, collard greens and mac n' cheese. YUMMY!!!
Life is easier since the boys can hold their own bottles!!! Here is Turner and Taylor snuggling with their larger than life friends....Mr. Duck and Mr. Puppy!

Havens and Sunny welcome the boys with big hugs! Jack and Nellie (their dogs) are trying to sneak in some love!

Havens feeding Turner--that girl was made to be a mother's helper!!!

A little out of order....Everyone act SHOCKED! Taylor fell asleep on the way to the Sea Island Beach Club where we were spending the afternoon. He slept in his car seat by the pool, under the shade for almost an 1 1/2! If only, we would nap in his crib at home like that?

Sunny feeding Taylor after his morning melt-down as Eliza and I exercised. I ended up running halfway home because of his tears! Maybe that is his way of telling me I am gaining weight?

Havens, Daddy and Turner in the pool at Sea Island. We love the beach club....we do live a spoiled life!! There are pools galore, fountains for the boys to play in, a jacuzzi, playground for the kids and a grassy area on the beach. Who would not be in love!! Turner loved the water! He splashed around and crawled in the shallow end for over an hour!

The grassy area...the boys loved crawling around, destroying my sunglasses, drinking water out of their Falcons sippy cups and hearing the ocean breeze!

Here is Turner trying to open his first beer....

Here is Turner after his first beer.....Just kidding!

Swimming and drinking always make you hungry!!!

Havens, Sunny and Rush enjoying a chocolate milkshake while the adults enjoyed their "adult beverages"!!!

Bathtime in Granny and Poppy's laundry room sink....

Taylor loves his baths now!!!!

Another adventurous weekend!

Taylor and daddy enjoy some private time at the beach! We took the boys and hounds to the beach. We enjoyed strolling around. we had planned for the boys to play in the sand, but they fell asleep in the stroller. Big Shocker since Slade boys only sleep in the car or stroller!!! Napping in a crib, huh? (Actually, we managed to get a 30 min. nap in their crib both Saturday and Sunday, which was a record for us!!!)
Turner and Taylor inspect their shovels.

Playdate at our house!!! We invited our school friends, Andrew and Davis, over to play on Sunday. Their mommys, Andrew's big brother Jared, and Andrew's daddy Michael came too. Here is Andrew and Davis. Oh, and Jared's right eye in the bottom corner. Cute kid.

Snacktime at the Slades! The graham crackers stole the show. Here Davis is offering to share with Turner. Sweet kid.

Another playdate! Mommy's friend, Shellie, brought her twin nephews over to meet the boys. William and Thomas are identical 4 year old twins and so precious. As you can see, Taylor and Turner enjoyed hanging with the big kids.

Whoops...out of order! Here is Andrew and Turner chatting away.
Mealtimes have gotten to be our favorite time. These are two classic photos of Turner. Taylor's will follow soon. Turner makes us laugh so hard because he is a chow hound! This kid is truly a "Mikey". He will eat anything. He even does the sign "More" to show us he is ready to eat MORE and NOW!!!

Here it is..... "MORE!!!!!"

We could be movie stars!

Check us out....these walkers are our new love! Hope you can see their smiles as they walk. They are so proud!!!

Charlotte Trip

Daddy was going to visit an old friend from St. Simon's Island in Ashville, so mommy and the boys decided to go see Gan and Boo. Daddy dropped us off on Friday and picked us back up on Sunday. A fabulous time was had by all. Check out our photos: (Yes, we got into tons of trouble...DOUBLE TROUBLE, THAT IS!!!!)

Taylor and Turner taking over Boo and Gan's kitchen...whoever said kitchens were for only cooking!?!

Bathtime has never been so much fun!!!

Partytime with Gan!! Thanks Boo and Gan for our fun new Hawaiian outfits.

Turner and Gan: 9 3/4 months!

Gan and Taylor: 9 3/4 months

I turned my back for a moment and Taylor had managed to get into this plastic tub. I was using it to block the boys from getting into Boo and Gan's living room...guess not!

Boo and Turner: Love at first Friday sight!!

Here we were trusting Gan to get a group shot of Caroline and I with the kids. John 5 was hiding from us....mad that the twins we were getting the attention and Boo was trying to get the twins to look at the camera. Guess it at least gave us a laugh--look at Turner's face as Boo tried toget all the kids to look toward Gan!!

Sweet Savannah and Carrie

Taylor and Savannah with my old dog, Penelope. Why I named her that, I have no idea. Carrie had a brown one (boy) whom she called Winston. Nanny Yoshino made these dogs for us when we were children.

Snacktime!!!

Lunchtime with mommy's second mother, Betty!!! Thank you Betty for our precious outfits...Clemson orange, so daddy was thrilled!

Gan looks on as Nanny Yoshino feeds me. Yes, I can feed myself but who would do that when I can pretend I need to be fed.
Good morning from Boo and Gan's house !!!

Jackson 4 Visit

We loved our last week visit with our Aunt Ellen and the girls! Thank you so much for our newtoy. As you can see, at first, we didn't know how it worked. But now, we are pros at making the lights go on by pushing the top button, fighting over who gets to touch the wheels and stealing the legs from one other!
Love you, Ashlyn, Emily and Julia!!! Seriously, the crush on girls has begun...you should seen us flirting!

New favorite photo!!

Please raise your hands if you think these are the cutest boys ever? (Don't worry, I see all those raised hands and can not agree more.)

Happy 4th of July!

Better late than never....here are our photos from the wonderful 4th weekend! Mommy was "on call" but managed to escape from seeing inpatients by her fabulous physicians, triage nurses and low hospital census!! Turner and Taylor pose for their first wagon ride--they took turns, as their buddy Walker shared the experience with them!!!

Turner, Walker and Taylor had a blast playing at Aunt Sabrina' house. They immediately hit it off. Funny thing, the twins really stuck together! Must be a twin thing?
Mommy with her boys on their first 4th of July at Aunt Sabrina's cookout!! (9 1/2 months)

Rolling the watermelon throughout the kitchen was only one of the fabulous activities of the day. Thank goodness eating cat food was not one of them!!! They certainly enjoying CHOWING from mommy's plate....pasta salad, chicken salad, barbeque, stuffed mushrooms and cupcakes!

Turner and Walker (15 months) were instant buds. Thank you Walker for the sweet kisses. What a precious kid!

" Happy 4th, ya'll!!!" Love, T and T
