Youngest Drivers over the Cooper River Bridge

It was another beautiful day in Mount Pleasant, so we decided to get some exercise with our cutie pies. The new (well, a few years old) Cooper River Bridge has this great new park, pier, and walking path. In order to stay on the "nap one long time so parents can rest too" schedule, we decided the boys would make the trip in their cars. The stroller is too cozy and perfect for napping!!!! Taylor and Turner geared up for the drive. I know the looks don't show it, but they LOVED every minute of it. They were looking around and holding tight at "10 and 2". What safe drivers!!!
Turner admiring the view.

AND we made it to the top! The youngest drivers ever, I feel certain to drive up the bridge. Go Boys!!! " Whew, we are tired buddies!!!"

Don't you love how mommy got the action on camera. This guy got busted by the cops. He was evidently climbing up onto the top pilingto "take a photo". Yeah right, buddy. We know you were trying to junp!!! RUMORS and watchers were everywhere! Nosy Mt. P people. Who me?
Who knows the real deal, but it all happened when we were right there. We heard the sirens, saw the cop cars stop, grab the guy from the post, search him down and read him his rights. You should have seen the stare that the Slade boys gave him. The looks alone probably made him feel like a real criminal.

Sensational Saturday

Ben and I both agree. This was one of the best weekends thus far with our boys! Everyone was in a great mood and we had so many fun times. Here are some photos from Saturday! Out of order, but here nevertheless.

Mommy and her boys: two days shy of 14 months!!!

Afternoon play date with the boy's good buddy, Davis! How lucky were we that he was strolling by with his sitter, Stephanie, and we were outside. When the boys saw each other, they pointed and smiled. You gotta love that! We joke that Davis is the triplet that thankfully, we did not have!

Playtime in the driveway has never been so much fun!!!

A mid morning stroll in our favorite place--Scott's Creek! The dogs swam and poor Turner tried to get in the pond. Poor guy thought if they could, he should be allowed too! Notice Taylor running from daddy!!

Private time with Daddy and Turner as Guinness and G swim!!!
Fighting over the car. And yes, we still have two, but of course, the one that brother has is the "best one".

Eating sticks and strolling in the park... Life doesn't get better than this, fellas!!

Turner chilling in the yard.

Not even a little rain can stop us from playing in the yard. They start fussing as they bang on the window and grunting. We bundle them up and hope for the best!!!

Taylor.... " Elf #2" as his teacher called him on Friday!!

It's raining, it's pouring, the Slade boys are...

STYLING in their new rain coats!!! Turner playing in the rain! He loved his new coat.
Taylor having an inside rain day with his bottle! Thank goodness for dogs!

Taylor is chilling in his coat on the way to school.

Turner loves looking out the windows. My flexibility at a light got me this great shot!

Who says rain can stop you from going on a stroller ride? When you look this handsome, rain or shine, you are going on a ride to show off!

" Daddy on Vacation" Weekend

Daddy went to Atlanta to meet his buddies to see the Falcons whoop some hinny! This is an annual tradition, which he missed last year for obvious reasons! We miss him terribly, but know the much needed break will be great for him! Daddy, here is what you missed.....

The new Super Walmart ...right near us and we love it! They have these great buggies, which the boys love. I wish you could have seen the smiles as we went aisle to aisle. I swear Taylor is going to grow up and be a Walmart greeter!
Playing with our cousins at Boo and Gan's house.......

Snacktime at the Farmer's Market with John 5!

Here are the boys taking over the Farmer's Market! Poor boys were dressed for the cold and it was over 70. What good sports they were!
Playing in Boo and Gan's back courtyard....

Ramming poor ole G. She is doing great on her new meds. We are thankful every day that we have her with us. On Friday, poor gal got out of the back gate, became disoriented, and lost. Thirty minutes later with a flashlight, i found her on the neighbor's back porch. Who knows? Maybe that is where they keep their dog's outside bowl?

Boo providing snacks in the backseat. Thank goodness she is small enough to fit in there!

Turner...exhausted after a big breakfast feast out at Saffron's!

Taylor: The one man band in the backseat.
* For the sack of grandmas who read this post, i will not post the pictures from Mommy's night out with the girls on Saturday. Thanks to Boo and Gan for watching her love bunnies! Mommy had a great time at a work party, then did dinner at her fave Italian place, then did the late night (well her late night) at this dive of a bar near her house. Thank goodness she remembered she had kids and had her dad pick her up at 10 because Turner woke up at 6 am ready to play! Taylor slept til 7:15--go figure!

SSI: GA/FL

I am trying to learn that with kids things never go as planned! Mommy stayed up until 11 on Thursday night packing for the big weekend! Georgia versus Florida weekend on St. Simons is so fun. Visits with old friends, parties, family time, plus trick or treating! We were all geared up for a long weekend, until Turner woke up screaming with a raging 104 fever. CHANGE OF PLAN! Poor buddy fussed the day away with mommy, as Taylor enjoyed the school halloween carnival. By 3, both boys were fussy, so we decided we better not leave in case things got worse. Luckily, Saturday morning, everyone was better and up early, so we decided to make the trip for the night! Lunch at Poppy and Granny's place...Thank you, poppy for getting our favorite stuff. The fruit, beans and green beans were a hit!!!

Guess we'll have to invest in portable chairs--they loved it for chilling!

Big daddy was hungry--- This is Taylor's new nickname after his great grandfather! When Taylor came out, his blood sugar was low and he had to be immediately given a bottle. We figure his fussiness is him being hungry. He is a growing boy! Sweet Havens knows exactly how to console him.
Turner decides to eat on a puzzle piece while painting Aunt Eliza's couch. Only kidding!!

Gotta love Sunny in her daddy's old halloween costume!! Anyone want to guess what she is....

Taylor and Poppy. Poor Poppy! The boys came through like a tornado, destroying his entire library!
Football and Horsey rides!!

Loved this picture of Taylor too much to not post!

The boys eating pita chips and playing with their new birthday toys---thank goodness for the new stearing wheel! It entertained the boy's in the last stretch of the trip!!! Baby Einstein was old news, but the wheel hit the spot!
Happy Halloween! Trick or treating to one house--it was too hot and we were all too pooped!!!

Bathtime! Oh, great story....
Turner got out of the tub and started straining while holding onto the toilet seat. Then, plop... the nugget came out. Figured that is close to potty training, right? He was touching the toilet with his hand and thank goodness, it wasn't in the water, as daddy would not have been happy!
The dalmation plays with the fireman's hat....

Ben Turner Slade III, IV and V!!!!

And not to leave anyone out (daddy's idea).....Daddy, Poppy and Taylor!
Breakfast at Frederica Cafe with Poppy, Granny, Uncle Scott, Aunt Krista and our cousins, Zoe, Anna and Kelly...mommy's favorite place for breakfast beacuse they have the best BLT! The boys were great and enjoyed a second breakfast of sausage, hash, bacon, pancakes, fruit, cinnamon buns and cheerios! These boys can eat now!
Turn enjoying himself with some monkey grass!

Best Buds.

We have no photos but a quick story.

I dropped the boys off at school last week. One of the older girls in the class has a special interest in the boys. She is always coming right up to them, talking to them, taking their toys. Sort of the bully, but only because she is older, I think.

On this particular day, she came up to Taylor and was tapping him on the shoulder. When he ignored her, she pushed him down. Baby B Taylor down and in tears. Baby A Turner witnesses the event. Smack on the shoulder. Older girl down and in tears. Older girl back up and bam on the head...Baby A Turner down and crying. Baby B Taylor jumps up and pounces the girl. Lesson learned...Don't mess with a Slade boy because they have a best bud looking out for them!!!

Preview Party: Halloween

The boy's buddy, classmate and neighbor, Davis, invited us over for a preview party before the big night! Here are some photos: Davis is the cow, Taylor is the dalmation and Turner is the fireman.
Who said a cow can't drive a car?

Turner and Taylor (13 months) with their good buddy, Davis (15 months)

Ok, you gotta laugh! The animals are fighting over Cheese It's, while the fireman tries to "put out the fire".

Georgia and Turner: See what I mean about sweet ole G!

And the fireman's faithful companion, Taylor the Dalmation...the pants were too hot for this 80 something afternoon, so he went with the top only. Funny thing, it was a little big , thus looked like a dress on him!
