Vacation to CO: Day 1

Well, the 7 hour drive from Denver almost killed us all, but we made it. Next time, mama will research the area better. Mileage way, the trip from Denver to Durango , it should have been only a 4-5 hour trip. But no in Colorado, not through the mountains.....views were beautiful, boys were good until the last leg, then the wining, crying, throw up from altitude started. Long trip, but worth it to see our favorite Aunt Eliza and nieces, RUSH, HAVENS and SUNNY!!! Missed you, UncleJohn, but will see you soon.
Riverside Walk: Note daddy and Poppy ahead with the strollers. Look to the right and you'll see a cool skateboard park for teenagers. Give Rush 5 years, and she'lll be sitting from this view watching her boyfriend skateboard. YIKES! Our nieces are growing up!!

Getting coffee our first am and the most amazing sugar buns on Main Street. Nellie and Jack--the dogs; Sunny with Turner and Havens with Taylor.

Mama and Turner!
Turner, Sunny, Taylor, Rush and Havens stop briefly to pose on some delivery boxes.

Havens helps Taylor up into the old train car as Sunny looks back at Mr. Independent, Turner.

The train from Durango to Silverton--"choo-choo". The boys loved it. We look forward to a visit on it when they get bigger. We thought the all day event would be too much "still-time" for their liking.
Beautiful, huh?

Walking along the river was our favorite everyday morning adventure. Havens always took over by pushing one boy up and down these hug hills, between biking.

The last hill was their long, steep driveway!!!

Most walks ended with one or two "sleeping Indians".

Day 1 was two!!!

Afternoon pooltime at the Websters! The water in the pool was way too cold for mama and daddy's liking, so we filled their sleds up with water so the boys could have their own pools!!!

Rocks galore! Their back yard had this huge fenced in garden area, rocks to throw, fresh herbs and strawberry bushes, plus a big ole swing, ping pong table and outside dining area. We were in love!!!
Not having highchairs, we found that picnic style was easier for mealtimes.

Group bathtimes were the highlight of the night! Splash, splash!!!
